Airsoft guns rock. Or maybe I should say, airsoft rocks!
I just walked in from one of the best airsoft games I have ever played. The other team had the latest airsoft ones. My airsoft gone is an ancient, but it's almost 2 years old. The other airsoft team definitely had and manage if you just look at airsoft guns. But airsoft is more than guns.
What the other team didn't have, is what I like to call it a good airsoft strategy. They played well individually, but they didn't play well as a team.
They didn't communicate well, their tactical maneuvers weren't coordinated, and their only strengths were in their shooting ability and the technology in their airsoft guns. Sure, they all look pretty sweet. They had expense of airsoft clothes, flashy airsoft guns, and all the usual airsoft gear. But they didn't win.
Unlike the other airsoft team, our team wasn't flashy. We don't have the latest airsoft gear. Again, we don't have the latest airsoft guns. In fact, our team was generally less attractive than the other airsoft team. But this isn't Hollywood. And success was not based on beautiful dresses. Success was based on the fundamentals of airsoft and tactical military coordination.
That's why I started this site. I want the sport of airsoft to grow. I want new airsoft players to understand what guns they need, what year they need, and more importantly, what really makes a good airsoft player.
It's not about your airsoft gun. It's not about your airsoft gear. It's not necessarily about your strength, but that is a factor. It's not necessarily about your brains, but that is a factor. Success in airsoft calms only when the minds of the players unite. Your airsoft team must work as one machine made of many parts. When each player understands that he or she is the part of the larger machine, the machine can become unstoppable.
True, you must be calm the most effective individual part that you can. That's your responsibility. But ultimate domination columns when individuals go beyond improving their own abilities, and bring their high-level skills into an alignment with a team strategy.
